Heroes and Celebrity Race

We are delighted to share with you that the 10th Anniversary edition of The Sarah Cook Fund Splash & Dash presented by Johnson & Johnson Inc. will be held at the McGill University Sports Complex on Saturday, November 19, 2011.

In the nine years since this event was first held, Sarah Cook – now 19 – has waged two courageous battles against cancer.  Sarah’s determination to beat life-threatening illness twice in her young life has inspired many people, including myself, to help others who are facing the same struggle.

Motivated by Sarah and her family, countless volunteers, corporations, students and families have come together as runners, swimmers, sponsors and donors to raise more than $1,000,000 for Sarah’s Floor, the Hematology-Oncology in-patient ward of The Montreal Children’s Hospital. These funds have helped to renovate Sarah’s Floor, purchase state-of-the art medical equipment, support nursing education, develop an art therapy program and provide assistance for families in need.

For our 10th year anniversary, we would like to honor and celebrate the families who have courageously made their journey at the Montreal Children’s Hospital with a dedicated Heroes and Celebrity race. The 3 person relay team will consist of 2 Heroes and 1 Celebrity in a run-swim-run race.

(2 laps around the track, 2 laps of the pool and 2 laps around the track)
